FEMA BRIC 23 and FMA 23 Mitigation Grant Programs - Notice of Intent
Dear Jurisdictions,
Planning ahead of projected FEMA Notice of Funding Opportunity [NOFO] for BRIC 23 and FMA 23 competitive Mitigation Grant Programs, Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security (IEMA-OHS) will begin accepting Notice of Intent [NOI] from local, tribal and territorial governments. The deadline to submit the NOI is June 30, 2023.
- IEMA will be posting the NOI form for BRIC 23 and FMA 23 for FEMA Mitigation Grant Programs on the IEMA-OHS Website (Illinois IEMA-OHS Mitigation Website). The completed NOI must be submitted to the ema.mitigation@illinois.gov
- IEMA-OHS, in coordination with Intergovernmental Mitigation Advisory Group [IMAG], will be reviewing received NOI.
- IEMA-OHS timeline to completing the review of received NOI is July 17, 2023.
- IEMA-OHS will reach out to all local Jurisdictions submitted the NOI on July 24, 2023.
IEMA-OHS Funding Priorities are:
- Completion of FEMA Hazard Mitigation Plans.
- Adoption of 2018 or 2021 versions of the International Building Code and International Residential Code.
- Mitigation projects to enhance adaptation to climate change and developing an effective response to climate change.
- Mitigation projects to address equities and inequities to provide the greatest support to economically disadvantaged rural communities.
- Acquisition of substantially damaged flood-prone structures, severe repetitive loss structures, and repetitive loss structures.
